A pedestrian was killed Monday afternoon after being struck by a car in the Inner Richmond, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Anza Street and Arguello Boulevard, near Rossi Pool and Playground. Officers from the Richmond District station first arrived on the scene around 2 p.m., the police said, and paramedics later transported the pedestrian to the hospital, where the victim was declared dead.
Police are investigating the incident. “The driver of the vehicle involved remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation,” wrote SFPD public information officer Jennifer Gamble, adding that no arrests have yet been made.
This death comes days after a Bernal Heights hit-and-run, which left one person in critical condition. The Inner Richmond also saw a major collision earlier this month after a three-car crash on Park Presidio Boulevard reportedly left six people with less severe injuries.
According to data maintained by the city, the first half of 2026 saw 12 pedestrian deaths at the hands of drivers. Three motorists and two cyclists were also killed in vehicle collisions in that same span of time.
Over 300 pedestrians have reported injuries after vehicle collisions so far this year.
