Supervisor Rafael Mandelman is pausing to fine-tune his proposal that would double San Francisco’s limits on direct donations to candidates. Yujie Zhou reports that critics want the increase to be accompanied by other reforms, to offset nearly unlimited campaign spending by big-money PACS.

In other campaign-money news, Scott Wiener continues to raise more than his opponent Connie Chan in the race for Congress. Kelly Waldron notes that Chan gained ground with her endorsement by Speaker Emerita Namcy Pelosi—but Wiener got a boost in donations after he was ejected from the Trans March.
