A man was shot and injured at 23rd and Vermont streets shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday.

Battalion Chief Michael Thompson of the San Francisco Fire Department confirmed the injury. He did not know the victim’s condition.

Police closed 23rd Street to vehicle traffic between Kansas Street and Potrero Avenue, and the 48 bus line was also halted.
