Inside the Bond Bar on 16th Street.

After a 105-90 win over the Houston Rockets, the Golden State Warriors  are heading to the NBA finals for the first time in four decades â€“ a fact the Mission met with polite cheers. Inside the Bond Bar on 16th Street, spectators clapped at the final play. At the Skylark nearby, the reaction was similarly muted.

No one poured out of the bars onto Valencia Street as they did after the Giants won the Pennant last October.

On Mission Street where low riders captured the corner of 24th and Mission after the October win and cruised with the exuberance of victory, a lone woman stood with her son on Wednesday night cheering at the cars passing by.   No one honked back.

  1. Point somewhat taken, but getting to the finals is a different world from winning the whole deal.
