Firefighters will likely remain on the scene until the integrity of the building can be determined by the owners' insurance company, though the Department of Building Inspection has already affirmed that the store would have to be demolished. Photo by Joe Rivano Barros.

If you were out of the Mission this weekend, here’s a handy run-down of the goings on as reported by Mission Local:

Demolition: A crew took to the Big House Inc. building, which we reported caught fire on Thursday, to start the demolition of the damaged building as onlookers watched in awe. We’ve got video of the scene.

Rent Wars: We followed up with the tenants facing eviction from the building on 26th and Treat. They’re accusing the building’s property manager of stealing their rent money and they’re taking him to court.

Street Tunes: A little bit of the Big Easy seemed to arrive in the Mission this weekend, as a Birthday Brass Band paraded down the street.
