Some never get too old for crime.

A man in his 60s stabbed and robbed a 27-year-old on Wednesday evening at 16th and Mission streets, according to police.

The suspect approached the victim at around 9:30 p.m., took out a knife and stabbed him in the side. The suspect then took the victim’s cellphone and cash and fled on foot.

The intersection of 16th and Mission has long been one of the most crime-ridden areas in the Mission District.

The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made. A total of nine cellphones have been reported stolen this month.

  1. I’m curious how the age of the suspect is known if there has been no arrest? The only way it makes sense to me is if the two already knew each other — or that the suspect was taken in for questioning, but not arrested.
