They go by different names and you see them every night out on the town. Hot dog vendors like Mario Vargas are all around the city, and while Vargas himself has been selling them for two decades, he’s unsure of what comes next. The Mission is facing housing issues, and the crowds are getting smaller and smaller.

I just had a hot dog from Mario! It was perfectly grilled with just the right amount of onions. I’m so grateful for affordable delicious food and he is very friendly!
You forgot to mention that these “business people” commit tax evasion, sell food from a filthy illegal food cart, work without a health and food license. Not approval of the SFFD of course, since its a huge life hazard working with an illegal gas propane tank under such insecure conditions. At anytime those carts can explode. I don’t know why these people can’t follow the social guidelines of developed nations. Breaking the law over and over and putting the public on danger.
Thank you for putting a spotlight on the people who make the Mission the Mission!
