Shortly after getting off of work, David Hackez Tomas found himself a nice seat on the corners of Mission and 19th. Last night a vandal overturned a green mailbox that had not been bolted down to the cement sidewalk and as of Friday afternoon still remains overturned.
“I’m just waiting for my mom and sister, and this place looked like a nice place to sit,” he said.
During the day, he works at an elderly care facility five days a week until noon time, when he gets off of work and attends classes at City College. He’s enrolled in a three year GED program, which the Salvadorian immigrant hopes will help land a better job.
“I was told it was necessary if you want to get a better job, so here I am,” he said.
