Fiesta De Las Americas

Organized by Calle 24 Latino Cultural District, Fiesta De las Americas will feature a whole day of Latin American festivities. All of 24th Street will be blanketed with sidewalk-oriented events; there will be no street closures, but there will be plenty of goings-on, music — and even Lucha Libre! Festival De Las Americas Lowrider Cruise

As part of the 2nd annual Festival De Las Americas, the San Francisco LowRider Council will make its contribution to the day with a lowrider cruise down Mission on Sunday, Sept. 16. The engines start at 5 p.m. at Mission and 24th Street and cars will be driving up and down after. It’s a free event, but space is limited. Learn more. —AR

Batman Day 2018

The Dark Knight has his own day now, and you can celebrate with the crew at Mission Comics and Art on Saturday, Sept. 15, with Batman Day. Learn more about the man in the bat mask and get free Batman comic books and masks between the hours of 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Other cool apparel will be available as well.  Located at Mission Comics and Art, 2250 Mission St. —AR

Fall Open Studios

Going from Friday to Sunday, the city’s Art Explosion Collective will be showing some of the newest art pieces to come out of their studios. They’ll have paintings, photos, sculptures and even clothes and jewelry to see. The event kicks off with a free reception gala on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. at Art Explosion Studios at 744 Alabama Street, then continues at Mission locations throughout the weekend.
