With one socially conscious benefit concert already under their belts, the musicians and teachers at Little Mission Studio are preparing to host the second in a series of donation-funded concerts raising money for nonprofits.
On November 17, the studio will host UnRest: The Environment, featuring music inspired by nature. Proceeds will go to the Natural Resources Defense Council.
In March, the studio launched a series of concerts with salient social themes, beginning with a collection of pieces by and about refugees.
“I definitely think musicians and artists have a responsibility to react to what’s happening around them and participate,” Little Mission Studio co-owner Matt Rupert said at the time.
The first concert raised $500 for the ACLU, he said.
You can watch their first concert in its entirety here.
UnRest: The Environment takes place Friday, November 17 at 7 p.m. at Little Mission Studio at 445 Hampshire Street. Tickets are available here for a suggested donation of $15
