A power outage hit the Castro Sunday afternoon, affecting more than 6,000 customers according to PG&E.

The utilities company reported the outage began around 12:30 p.m. and spanned an area covering most of the Castro, Twin Peaks, and parts of the Mission District along 16th and Dolores streets.

The company website indicated power would be restored around 3 p.m., though no cause was given.

UPDATE: CBS Local reports the outage was caused by a mylar balloon entangled in wires at 15th and Shotwell streets.
