A stabbing occurred near 18th and Mission at around 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, though police said the victim was in non-life-threatening condition.

“Around 3:30 this afternoon we received a call regarding a stabbing around the bus stop,” said Gordon Shyy, a spokesperson for the police department. “A male was stabbed in the upper body by a group of suspects…and the suspects fled the area.”

At 5:30 p.m., three possibly juvenile males were being detained near 19th and Mission by four police officers in two squad cars. Shyy said that the two incidents were likely connected, but said the case was still under investigation. Officers at the scene did not say why the three were detained, though the suspects were told to sit on the ground for more than an hour, according to witnesses.
