SFist has a video up today of a man who was pinned to the ground and arrested at Dolores Park on Monday by two park rangers for the crime of “being drunk,” according to SFist reporter Jack Morse, who happened to be nearby and filmed the incident.

Morse writes that at 5:45 p.m. on President’s Day, he noticed two rangers “beelining across the trash-strewn grass with what appeared to be a target in mind” before tackling and cuffing the man seen in the video. A park-goer nearby then made the helpful comment that his arrest was caused by “being drunk,” and indeed there are several beer bottles and coconut rums on the ground beside the man.

Mission Local put in a call to the Recreation and Parks Department and is awaiting a response, and we will update the post when we learn more.

Update: Joey Kahn, a spokesperson with the Recreation and Parks Department, sent an email stating that the man was cited for three violations: disorderly conduct, interference with Recreation and Park Employees, and public intoxication. Each citation carries a $192 fine.
