Police report a man was assaulted by a group of three suspects while inside a building on Mission Street between 16th and 17th streets.  The victim, a 35-year-old man who was drunk, reportedly does not live at the apartment building where he was attacked at 6:35 a.m. on Saturday. Three men in their 20s beat the man, causing a traumatic brain injury along with a swollen eye and lacerations to the face. The victim was transported to the hospital but did not provide further information to police. No arrests were made.

At 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, a 21-year-old man was walking toward his car from a bar near 16th and Mission streets when two men approached him from behind and pushed him up against his car. The suspects went through the victim’s pockets and took his wallet with cash, credit cards and a smartphone before fleeing. The victim was not injured, and the suspects were not arrested.

Police are also requesting the public’s help in locating a missing 73-year-old woman, Lani Uchida, a San Francisco SRO resident who usually calls her family weekly from a pay phone on the Embarcadero. Uchida has not been heard from since February 14 and has a medical condition that requires medication. Tips can be called in anonymously to (415) 575-4444 or texted to TIP411 with SFPD at the beginning of the message. A photo of Uchida is shown below:
