Police gave no updates today on the shooting that occurred at 5:00 p.m. at 14th and Natoma streets on Tuesday, sending two victims to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. So far, no arrests have been made and police are investigating the attack.

Group Stabbing at a Mission Bus Stop

Later on Tuesday, a stabbing at 18th and Mission streets left one of the victims in life-threatening condition. Police described the armed attackers as “a large group” of men between the ages of 18 and 20. The men neared the intersection at 8:25 p.m. to approach the victims, a 34-year-old man and a 41-year-old man, who were sitting at the bus stop. An ensuing confrontation escalated into a fight, and one of the suspects stabbed the 34-year-old man in the back repeatedly, while the other victim also retained cut wounds to his back that were non-life-threatening.

Both victims were transported to San Francisco General Hospital, where the 34-year-old victim remains in critical condition from his stab wounds and the 41-year-old victim has been stabilized. The suspects were able to flee the scene, and no arrests have been made.

Attempted Robbery with a Hammer

Another vicious attack occurred at 25th and Shotwell streets, in which a man was sent to the hospital after being hit over the head with a hammer. At about 7:00 p.m., the 31-year-old man was approached by an unidentified male who attempted to rob him, demanding his cell phone.

The victim put up a fight, and during the struggle that ensued the attacker brandished a hammer and swung it at the victim’s head. A witness to the attack was able to intervene and stop it from escalating further.  The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction, and the victim, who retained his cell phone, was treated at the hospital for his non-life-threatening injuries.  No arrests have been made.

  1. Just wow, is there still time to respond to Bob and John?

Too much of what Bob says seems true, – a percentage of the Mission cops “just don’t care” and have “walked off the job.” Thankfully there are also good cops out there. But with the effects of the “anarchist” protests about the killings of Alex Nieto, Amilcar Lopez and Mario Woods, the pressure is mounting that the good cops pressure for change on the cops that “just don’t care” and have “walked off the job.”

And John, looking one district over at #8, Scott Weiner initially ran as a progressive, and since has revealed himself as less than that. Plus your just wrong that Campos has treated crime as a low priority. Seeking a police force that addresses community sensibilities, and does not see itself above the law, is the opposite of being soft on crime. Its asking that the main front line instrument to fight crime is sharp and in good working order.

    1. If I was a cop in the Mission, I wouldn’t care either. The Mission is full of cop hating anarchists, who think they can handle problems themselves. I hope all the cops in the Mission walk off the job. Suck it up, buttercups!

  2. The Shotwell and 25th incident happened at around 6:20 am not 7 pm and the reason I know this is the man screaming woke me up.

  3. pretty much everyday there is a violent crime within a 11 by 6 block radius. 14th to 25h and Dolores to Harrison. Even more in the couple blocks either direction of Mission street. It’s a fucking warzone. I think it’s time we start setting up cameras on every corner of this violent area until the crime starts to go down. At least start with Mission street. I’d personally give up a little freedom for some protection from these horrible people.
