Police report a 20-year-old man was walking on Potrero Avenue and 24th Street on Tuesday at 6:50 p.m. when a dark sedan approached him. A male suspect jumped out of the car and struck the victim with some unknown, but sharp, object before apparently realizing he had mistaken the victim for someone else.

The suspect then got back into the vehicle and fled along with a second suspect. The victim suffered a laceration to his hand but was able to walk in to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment. No arrest was made.

Crime is trauma and the county offers different services. Here is a link to a page of services.

Victims of violent crime can also contact the Trauma Recovery Center at UCSF.
