KRON reports that one man suffered a gunshot wound to the torso Friday night. The shooting occurred at around 9:15 p.m. at Kamille Court and Treat Avenue.
According to KRON, the victim told police he heard gunshots and started running away, but was hit by at least one bullet. Despite his injury, the victim managed to run to 26th and down one block to Harrison Street, where he was picked up by an ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
SFPD’s Public Information Officer Albie Esparza said the victim thought he heard fireworks and was then approached by a suspect, described as a 20-year-old male about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and shot in the face. The wound was not life-threatening, hitting the victim in the mouth or lip. The victim was able to speak with police after the incident, though he was taken to the hospital to be treated.
The suspect was further described as wearing a black hoodie, black pea coat and white pants. He fled on foot along Kamille Court toward Folsom. Esparza said that while there has been no arrest, investigators will be trying to review video surveillance from the scene of the incident.
KRON reports police are requesting anyone with information on the incident call (415) 558-5400 or (415) 575-4444 to leave an anonymous tip. Tips can also be texted to TIP411 if they start with the letters SFPD.
