SFGate has a scoop on the latest Mission trend: Piñatas that look like Donald Trump. Apparently for $14 to $20 a pop, locals frustrated with the presidential candidate’s outrageous public statements (he has become particularly unpopular with Latino immigrants for offensive comments about Mexicans and his anti-immigration stance) can buy a papier-mâché replica of him to destroy with a stick.
One local dollar store owner told SFGate he is selling 30 or 40 of the novelties a week. Another said he’s never seen anything like the Trump phenomenon before.
SFGate reports piñata buyers and sellers have been calling Trump everything from “mean and a bully” to “for hitting” to “good to break apart.”
