File photo: Mission Local reporters in the studio at BFF.fm

You might know them from their music. You might know them from their tipsy Thursday nights at Pop’s. Or you might know local online radio station  BFF.fm from Listen Local, our very own biweekly (fortnightly?) webcast bringing you Mission stories live every other Thursday morning.

However you know BFF, you should also know that the intrepid little radio station is growing. Tucked away inside the Secret Alley on Capp street, BFF exists almost entirely in a studio the size of a generously proportioned broom closet. But with almost round-the-clock programming showcasing the best of the underground and underplayed music scene, that little studio is getting a bit cramped! So the station is raising funds to put together a second small studio, which will help DJs and show hosts put together stellar pre-recorded shows to avoid reruns, schedule interviews with local personalities and guests who might not be able to make it to a live show, and improve programming all-around.

The BFF team is $8,000 into their $15,000 goal, and already busy renovating the studio space with volunteer muscle and a few choice power tools. You can find and support the Kickstarter here and/or attend their Home Stretch Hustle (free!) at the Chapel next Tuesday, June 16th from 9 p.m. to midnight.
