Shortly after throwing its eight-year-anniversary party, local gay bar Truck will be shutting down on an as-yet unclear, but near, date. According to SFist, the unabashedly raunchy bar in the Northeastern corner of the Mission is already planning the first of several farewell parties, called Moving Truck, which takes place Friday June 5 at 9 p.m.
Sought out in part for its bar food, cheap drinks and amicable atmosphere, Truck also boasted an “unerringly friendly” vibe, though “it gets a little beefy in here, with mass outbreaks of shirtless-ness,” according to the Bold Italic’s Peter Lawrence Kane.
“After eight awesome years of throwing wild events and hopefully creating something unique in San francisco’s nightlife, Truck will be closing,” the bar’s proprietors wrote in an announcement. “It would mean a great deal to celebrate with everyone and give Truck a proper goodbye.”
