Although bright lights shine inside the Therapy boutique, like most Valencia Street stores, it doesn’t open for several hours.
Some restaurants and bars are open…but only for the cleaning crews.

Muddy Waters was the one of only two businesses open at 7am (the other was K&H Liquor, where the co-owner declined comment). “Nobody is open, I guess, and I have some customers who will be leaving [for the] East Bay who take BART early. I open for them,”explains manager Najat Echchoukairi. She opens as early as 5:30 for these faithful customers.
Locals, out of hooders, bikes and cars compete for space in front of Casanova Lounge on a Saturday night, but you won’t find a soul behind the metal gate at 7 am.
