Listen Local is Mission Local in audio form. We go live on a biweekly webcast every other Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:00. Here’s our latest episode:

Last Sunday a man was shot by police at Mission Station in what turned out to be suicide attempt — the man left a note on his phone addressed to the officers who shot him, saying he had provoked them intentionally. In the immediate aftermath when Mission Local was trying to figure out what had happened, we were lucky enough to come across a witness who in fact had been a reporter and editor with us for some time. But her testimony didn’t align with what evidence the police later issued. What will we take away from this incident for our future work with witness accounts?

In our second segment, we introduce you to photographer Daniel Mondragón, who has recently returned to the Mission from a few years in Los Angeles. His portraits of local residents have graced our website in a few different instances over the past month, and he joins us today to discuss the neighborhood, photography, and more.
