This afternoon, Mike Brown, Sr., the father of the young man killed in a police shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, visited Mission High for a rally organized by the school’s Black Student Union. The rally is to protest the Grand Jury decision not to indict the officer involved in killing Brown’s son. We’ll have more on this tomorrow, but for now reporter Andra Cernavskis offers us a quick glimpse of the scene with the photo above, she reports:
There are students from about eight different San Francisco schools here. The energy is high and supportive with lots of cheers and clapping whenever someone speaks. Students from Mission’s Black Student Union opened the event with speeches and poems.
Stay tuned for a more in-depth coverage from the rally tomorrow.
