Giving back takes all forms. For the folks at Los Shucos, it means sharing a whole heap a free hotdogs to a worthy organization. The Latin American hot dog joint is currently accepting applications from Mission District nonprofits for catered a meal for 100 people. Here are the details below from Los Shucos owner:

In the spirit of Christmas Los Shucos Latin Hot Dogs would like to honor the generous work of Mission nonprofits. We will be offering a free catering for 100 people to a local nonprofit that is doing great work in the community. We are calling this initiative ,”All I Want for Christmas is a Shuco”.

Any Mission nonprofit can request to receive this free catered lunch that will take place at their location of choice in the Mission on December 23 by writing a letter about the work their nonprofit does to help the community and email it to info@losshucos.com

The applicants are also encouraged to include pictures about their nonprofit and anything else that would be helpful to showcase the work they do.

Update: This just in from Los Shucos, the winner of their Mission nonprofit hotdog giveaway is…. the Women’s Building.  Here’s what the hot dog vendor says about this longtime Mission District nonprofit:

As the letters started to come in last minute we realized how hard it was going to be to chose…Congratulations to The Women’s Building for winning “All I Want for Christmas is a Shuco”! We wanted to give back to ONE nonprofit but we got lucky, The Women’s Building houses NINE nonprofits and tomorrow we will feed them all!
