At 11:05 p.m. Tuesday a group of men out on the sidewalk near a bar or restaurant at 21st and Bartlett had words with another group. “Heated words,” were exchanged according to police.
One of the men threw a beer at the two victims and one grabbed the 19-year-old woman’s cellphone. The group then chased the two victims – the woman and her 19-year-old friend down Bartlett Street between 22nd and 21st Streets.
The victims told police they were being chased by a group brandishing a knife. The knife later turned out to be a screwdriver. The police made two arrests.
Nelson Hernandez De Leon, 24, was arrested for robbery of the cell phone, and John Andrew Srausto Gonzalez, 23, was cited for impeding the investigation by fleeing the scene.
