San Francisco Police Department spokesman Albie Esparza has released a statement saying that police have made an arrest in connection to the stabbing death of 14-year-old Rashawn Williams.

The suspect in custody is also a juvenile and therefore their name will not be released to the public. In comments to the ChroniclePolice Chief Greg Suhr said the suspect attended middle school with Williams.

The police department could not share any additional information at this time.

As we reported earlier today, Williams was killed yesterday around 6:50 p.m. outside of Rubin Market on Folsom at 26th Street. Witnesses have said there were two boys involved in the killing, believed to be 13 or 14-years-old, but police have yet to comment on these details.

We’ll update this page when we have more details and updates. Anyone with information on this case is still urged to contact SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text-a-tip to TIP411 with “sfpd” at the start of message.
