DREAMers With MEDA Are Given an Award

Last night, four DREAMers and DACA youth were recognized by United Way of the Bay Area-MatchBridge, Summer Job+ and the mayor Ed Lee.

Two years ago, President Obama announced that his administration would stop deporting undocumented youths who matched certain criteria previously proposed under the DREAM act. This act provides an estimated 1.4 million young people with a path to citizenship, with over 400K in California alone (more than the Central American nation of Belize, at around 340K).

All four clients were given an award at the packed “Summer Jobs+ Celebration” at a ceremony in downtown San Francisco (AutoDesk office), with MEDA being recognized for its work with such youth. MORE HERE
