Soccer fans filled the streets on Sunday afternoon, gathering in martini bars and Mexican restaurants along Valencia Street to watch the United States play against Portugal in the World Cup.

Blondie’s and La Rondalla each drew passionate crowds who were at the edge of their seats towards the end of an exciting game. Spirits were high as the American team’s likelihood of winning looked certain – until their dreams were crushed as Portugal scored an equalizing goal with only 30 seconds left in the game. The U.S. faces off against Germany while Portugal takes on Ghana on Thursday, June 26 at 9 a.m.
