It is a Spare the Air day, meaning the Bay Area Air Quality Management District mandates it illegal to make a fire in one’s fireplace, pellet stove or wood-burning stove on one of the coldest days of the year. However, if your wood-burning fireplace or stove is the only source of heat, you’re exempt.

The Sacramento Bee’s Capitol Alert reports that the environmental Bay Delta Conservation Plan — all 35,000 pages of it — is finally ready for public review. The plan proposes building two ginormous tunnels to send water from the Delta to Southern California. Although popular Gov. Brown is a fan of the plan, many Californians aren’t.
