Rigo Hernandez and Chris Schodt at Lost Weekend video.

Lost Weekend Video hosted a screening for the finale of “Breaking Bad” replete with stand-up comedy and a live podcast. The house was packed as Mission locals and those traveling through San Francisco gathered to celebrate the ending of one of TV’s most popular shows.

Chris Schodt built a running motor before turning 10. By 26, he pivoted — just slightly — from a career in science to writing about it as a journalist. The St. Paul, Minn., transplant hopes to uncover the “upstarts and weirdos” of the Mission’s burgeoning tech/science scene.

Justin Richmond has been educated all over California, including Orange County, Los Angeles and Berkeley. It’s an experience, he says, that will help him cover community colleges and high schools. He's particularly excited to explore how the Mission's schools reflect the Mission.

Rigoberto Hernandez is a journalism student at San Francisco State University. He has interned at The Oregonian and The Orange County Register, but prefers to report on the Mission District. In his spare time he can be found riding his bike around the city, going to Giants games and admiring the Stable building.
