The five-block portion of Cesar Chavez Street between Hampshire and Harrison streets will be repaved by the Department of Public Works starting next week. Crews currently are inspecting and replacing damaged sections of the roadbed. “Replacing the broken sections of concrete prior to repaving will allow us to maximize the life expectancy of the new roadway,” according to DPW’s spokesperson Alexander Murillo.
