It looks like the Mission has its own Bonnie and Clyde.

A man and woman teamed up to rob a 30-year-old male at the corner of 22nd and Florida Streets on Tuesday. The duo split up the dirty work.

The female first amicably approached the victim on the street when suddenly a male robber walked up and pinned him against a wall. The female searched the victim’s pockets and took a stash of cash before the two fled the scene on foot.

The victim knows at least one of his robbers, but none of the suspects are in custody, according to Officer Albie Esparza, a SFPD spokesperson.

Soon after Dorothy M. Atkins moved to the Bay Area, she met an artist painting a heroin-themed scene in one of the Mission’s mural alleys. The artist explained that despite the city’s high number of drug users, it lacks an effective needle exchange program. Dorothy hopes to explore the complexity of such policies and their impact on the Mission through her political reporting.
