The PBS NewsHour features a story about the Mission Science Workshop and an interview with founder Dan Sudran. The article calls the workshop a “cousin” to the newly opened Exploratorium center on San Francisco’s Pier 15.

Eater SF reports that Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese is planning to open another restaurant in the city. The food won’t be Chinese, but it will be Asian.

The Examiner reports that a new survey by the Asian Law Caucus has found that many San Francisco residents are living under the radar of census officials. The survey found that 33 percent of homes in the Excelsior District, just next door to the Mission, have illegal “in-law” units. According to the report, most occupants of these illegal quarters are low-income families with young children.
