Police reported that a shooting occurred near 19th and Mission streets just after 2 this morning, according to Bay City News. Officers from the San Francisco Police Department and California Highway Patrol pursued a suspect vehicle onto southbound Highway 101, where it reportedly crashed near Candlestick Park. A man and a woman were detained and one victim of the shooting was transported to San Francisco General Hospital.

Thousands of protesters and immigrants’ and workers’ rights advocates marched from the Mission District to Civic Center yesterday for May Day. Check back with Mission Local later today to see photos from the march.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will visit Everett Middle School this morning to talk with administrators and community members.
