Weekend Crime Recap

Friday

Police reported that a man stabbed a woman near 24th Street and Treat Avenue at 1:25 p.m., for what the victim said was no apparent reason. The victim suffered a laceration that was not life-threatening and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. No arrests were made.

Two men in their 20s shot a 19-year-old man in the shoulder at Guerrero and 15th streets at 4:24 p.m., police said. The victim was standing on the sidewalk when the suspects pulled up in a vehicle and exited the car before shooting him. The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Police are investigating the incident.

At 6:30 p.m., three men beat and robbed a man near 16th and Mission streets, police reported. The three suspects knocked on the door of the victim’s hotel room and forced themselves inside. The victim ran out into the street; the suspects followed him and hit and kicked him repeatedly. The victim suffered a bite on his hand and bruises to his head and body. His injuries were not life-threatening.

The suspects took the victim’s cellphone and wallet and fled westbound on 16th Street. No arrests were made.

Saturday

Police reported that two young men approached another man at 12:20 a.m. near 21st and Noe streets, punched him and attempted to steal his phone. The victim held on to the phone and the suspects fled the scene. The victim suffered a bloody nose. His injuries were not life-threatening and he transported himself to the hospital. No arrests were made.

A man was approached by a male suspect at 4 a.m. near Mission and 19th streets, police reported. The suspect grabbed the victim’s phone, then punched him in the face before fleeing on foot. The victim reported no injuries. An arrest has been made.

At 9:25 p.m., a man was walking home while intoxicated and got into a verbal altercation with four male suspects near 23rd and Hampshire streets, police reported. The suspects beat the victim and took his money, then fled in an unknown direction. The victim suffered bruises to the face that were not life-threatening, and he was treated at a hospital.

No arrests were made.

Sunday

At 1:10 a.m., a man in a restaurant near 22nd Street and South Van Ness Avenue committed an act of arson, police said. A witness inside the building reported seeing the suspect throw a cigarette toward the front door, after which a fire started. The San Francisco Fire Department responded to the scene and found a can with fluid near the restaurant’s entrance. The suspect fled on foot.

No arrests were made.

A man was walking at 3:32 a.m. near Bartlett and 25th streets when two men approached him. One suspect pinned the victim against a vehicle, pointed a handgun at his head and demanded his property. The victim gave the two men his cellphone and money. The suspects fled on foot. No arrests were made.

Monday

A man was walking near 21st and Capp streets at 3:11 a.m. when a man in a black 1990 four-door Toyota Corolla stopped next to him and exited the vehicle. The suspect asked the victim if he was a gang member. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money. The victim handed over his money.

The suspect then fled in the vehicle. No arrests were made.
