One person was shot at the corner of Guerrero and 15th streets in the Mission after 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon, according to police. The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder that was not life-threatening.
Police said that two individuals drove up to the intersection and got out of the car. One then shot the victim, who was standing on the corner, police said.
“I thought it was firecrackers,” said Chris Davai, owner of Spot-lite Market Liquors, across the street from where the incident occurred. When Davai looked outside, he saw people running away from the northeast corner of the intersection, where the victim was shot.
The suspects fled northbound on Guerrero in a four-door SUV.
After 5 p.m., police were interviewing witnesses and looking for video surveillance from neighbors and nearby businesses that may have captured the incident. At least seven shell cases were found on the sidewalk at the scene.
