A threatened 20 percent rent increase has challenged the business model of Adobe Books, on 16th Street between Valencia and Guerrero, and stirred debate over how to keep the shop afloat. Over the last month the store’s supporters have organized a series of events to raise funds so it can stay in the neighborhood. Today, Adobe Books announced on its Facebook page that it has reached the $30,000 mark — half of its fundraising goal — with the support of the community.
