SFPD patrol cars speed off northbound on Shotwell Street as a helicopter hovered above on Tuesday night. The driver never exceeded the speed limits during the chase, according to the Mercury News.

A suspected drunk driver led police officers on an hour-long chase that ended near 14th Street and South Van Ness Avenue on Tuesday night, reports the Mercury News.

The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, was initially asked by officers to pull over on northbound Interstate 880 at Whipple Road around 10:23 p.m., CHP officers said.

The driver continued on, and officers began to follow.

The driver traveled through multiple cities, including Oakland, before getting onto the Bay Bridge and crossing over into San Francisco.

The driver never exceeded speed limits during the nearly hour-long chase, the CHP said.
