The holiday weekend so far has meant shorter lines for brunch and more free parking spots because of the Burning Man exodus. For law enforcement, it also means DUI checkpoints. So far this year’s numbers are looking better than last year, according to the SF Appeal:

In San Francisco, law enforcement agencies had made 85 drunk driving arrests as of Thursday as part of a summer crackdown that started Aug. 17th and extends through Monday. That number is about a third lower than last year’s tally, according to spokeswoman Jan Ford.

Wise Sons Deli, a popular pop-up and now a 24th Street mainstay, is getting more love, this time from Bon Appetit magazine, which lists it as one of four “best new Jewish delis in America” and notes the trend toward using sustainable meats.
