A meetup for the sale of a video game console turned into an armed robbery on Florida Street near 18th Street last night, according to police.

After seeing an online ad for a video game console, the suspects — one man and one woman of unknown ages — arranged to meet with the two victims, who were selling the items.

The two suspects tried to pay with counterfeit bills, according to police. When the victims, a 15-year-old boy and 40-year-old man, realized that the bills were fake, the male suspect brandished a handgun and drove off with the second suspect in a four-door sedan, taking the victims’ video game console and two games.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made, according to police. The incident occurred around 10 p.m.

  1. Hopefully they get caught soon. Remember people: conduct your Craigslist transactions in public areas during daytime hours.

  2. Paying with fake bills should get the Secret Service involved in this case. Federal time for a video game system, wow.
