Whew, what a weekend! Beautiful weather and Cinco de Mayo packed the sidewalks, restaurants and parks on Saturday; Sunday Streets packed Valencia and 24th for much of Sunday.

Unfortunately, on Sunday morning before all the festivities, a huge fire raged at Valencia and 14th, displacing 37 residents and injuring five firefighters and one resident. Here’s our coverage, with videos, and we’ll be continuing to update as we learn more.

In national news, Vice President Joe Biden said yesterday that he is comfortable with the idea that men who marry men and women who marry women should have the same rights as opposite-sex couples. President Obama has not gone as far as the VP did yesterday, though he’s said his views on gay marriage are “evolving.”
