Police arrest an alleged prostitute on 17th Street and Treat Avenue as officers talk to a Mission Loc@l reporter on the scene.

A woman was arrested for alleged prostitution at the corner of Treat Avenue and 17th Street at approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Police Officer Salvador put the woman in handcuffs as her friends, who called her “Kitty,” asked the two officers if their friend would be okay. The friends, who were driving an RV and stopped on the corner on 17th Street and Treat Avenue, were heard promising their friend they would see her after police released her.

“She’ll be out in a few hours,” Salvador said.

After police arrested the woman, her friends drove away.

Dozens of residents and sex worker advocates attended a police meeting Tuesday evening to talk about an increase in prostitution on Capp Street.

We’ll update this story as we get more information.

  1. Scumby RVs like that serve as portable brothels in that area. Legalize it, keep it clean and safe and off the streets.
