A car hit a pedestrian’s pushcart outside Mission Loc@l’s offices at 17th Street and Treat Avenue at 4:30 p.m. The pedestrian was attempting to cross Treat when the incident occurred.
“What are you doing?” the woman screamed.
The driver honked, backed up and sped away down 17th Street toward Mission Street.
The woman appeared uninjured, and after a few minutes she walked away toward Mission. She left a broken pane of glass wrapped in paper in the street.
A Mission Loc@l reporter who witnessed the encounter described the driver as approximately 60 years old with stark white hair, driving an early-model maroon sports car, possibly a Ford Mustang.
A patrol car appeared on the scene at 4:40 p.m., looking for the pedestrian.
