The Lower 24th Street Merchants and Neighbors Association announced first Friday events along 24th Street this summer, starting May 4. The monthly celebration began last fall but seems to be getting more organized. The Friday evening events feature street artists, sales, art, music and food: “$3-$5 bites from participating restaurants.”

On Saturday, San Franciscans may see an unusual sight for this city: a Tea Party rally. The Chronicle reports that 10 Bay Area groups will converge for a demonstration at Justin Herman Plaza at 1 p.m. The upcoming tax day is the occasion.
