The plot thickens in the fatal biker/pedestrian collision last week at Castro and Market. The Chronicle reported that police have a witness who says he or she saw the cyclist, Chris Bucchere, speed through several red lights before approaching the intersection where he collided with 71-year-old Sutchi Hui. If true, it could bump up his charges to a felony.

It was a rough day for Giants fans yesterday. Behind star pitcher Matt Cain, the team blew a 6-0 lead to lose 7-6 to the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was the third straight loss and closed out the first series of the season, making this the worst Giants start in 28 years. Read here if you want more grim details. On the bright side, it can only get better from here.

Lastly, after months of preparation, we can finally announce the date and location of the first-ever Mission Local film fest. Save the evening of Saturday, April 28, to head to the Women’s Building on 18th Street. You’ll see a series of short films created in or about the Mission, or by Mission residents and filmmakers.
