Police have arrested a man suspected of stealing electronics from a house that had been damaged by fire.

The home, at 1257 South Van Ness Avenue, caught fire on Friday, March 9. When the resident came back to get some of his possessions, he found a man in the living room putting several electronic devices into a black duffle bag. The suspect fled.

Days later, the victim saw the suspect standing on a street corner near his home. Officers responded and found the suspect in possession of the victim’s stolen property.

The suspect was booked on several felony charges, including burglary and possession of narcotics.
