The Mission topped the list of neighborhoods with the most crimes committed on Muni property last year, according to figures released by the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD).
In the Mission, 29 incidents of aggravated assaults, robberies, grand theft and vandalism were recorded on Muni vehicles, stations or platforms, according to SFPD’s Muni Task Force.
The Ingleside was second, with 21 incidents, and the Bayview third with 17.
The good news is that of the 130 crimes committed on Muni property across the city, 123 resulted in arrest, according to an SFPD press release. Overall the task force closed 97 percent of the cases.
The SFPD reminds citizens to stay alert when using cellphones and other electronics on Muni buses.
