Two teenage boys robbed a 34-year-old woman Saturday afternoon, according to police.

The victim was on 21st and Valencia around 3:30 p.m. when she was approached from behind by the two suspects. One suspect reached for the victim’s cellphone and a tug-of-war ensued. The suspects ultimately succeeded in snatching the phone and fled on foot. No arrests have been made.

Minutes later, another, more violent, robbery involving a police chase through Four Barrel Coffee resulted in two arrests. Mission Loc@l was on the scene.


A third robbery took place at 17th and Mission on Sunday at 10 p.m. A 33-year-old man was walking when he was approached by two suspects who pushed him to the ground.

One suspect held the victim down while the other went through the man’s pockets, taking his wallet, which contained both U.S. and European currency. The suspects, described by police as men in their 50s, fled on foot. No arrests have been made.

  1. how about a story on what’s being done by SFPD in reaction to the recent surge in muggings/robberies, many of which are on main streets and during daylight/early evening hours these days ?
