On Wednesday July 27th, 2011 the San Francisco Police Department led a multi-agency enforcement operation targeting wanted suspects throughout The City.  The operation was conducted utilizing officers from all 10 District Stations in partnership with the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department, United States Marshals Service, State Parole Agents, and San Francisco Adult Probation Officers.
During the seven hour enforcement operation, 40 arrests were made including 30 felonies.  Of the individuals arrested, 16 are on active CDC parole.  It has been nearly 2 years since the Police Department has conducted an operation of this type on a citywide scale.  Chief Greg Suhr intends to conduct similar operations on a monthly basis to keep dangerous parolees and wanted fugitives off San Francisco’s streets.
The San Francisco Police Department is grateful for the support of these allied agencies.  In these difficult fiscal times, these types of partnerships are essential in being successful in implementing crime fighting strategies.
