I did a ride-along in the Mission too. It was an amazing experience! I recommend it to all.
The best (and maybe only) way to get a ride-along is to enroll in the SFPD’s FREE Community Police Academy which culminates in a ride-along at the end of the 3 month course (which meets once per week after work, and is FREE).
